USAID Retiree Working Group
Many retirees from USAID are waiting far longer than expected to receive their retirement benefits, often enduring months without income, delayed leave payouts, and significant financial and emotional hardship.
Foreign Affairs Media Advocacy
In 2025, the U.S. government unlawfully laid off more than 3,100 U.S. State Department and USAID civil service experts. These RIFs have led to a loss of critical foreign affairs infrastructure and institutional knowledge and support. Local 1534 members are hard at work collecting data and working with the media to emphasize the importance of a nonpartisan public service that works for everyone.
